I don't know what bothers me most about this trip so far,

-the fact that it took twenty-nine hours of continuous travel to get here
-the fact that I literally cannot get farther from home
-the fact that I am exactly 12 hours off of normal, which makes communication with back home VERY DAMN HARD
-the fact that the hotel here charges twenty nine dollars a day for internet access
-or the fact that Qantas grounded its fleet of A380s one fucking day after I spent 15 hours flying over the entire Pacific Ocean in one

Despite that, I'm loving it here.

I talked to a couple other people here whose plane ran out of fuel on the way and had to land and gas up on a teeny island off the east coast of Australia. I HAD NO IDEA THAT COULD HAPPEN.

And yeah it's ridiculous. :[

With conversion it would normally be not as big a deal except I have this magical gift where every time I go abroad, the US dollar crashes mightily.

I have never been to Canada during a time when the US dollar was worth more, for example.

It was uncomfortable more than anything else. :[ Also you may not mind flying this airline as much - free alcohol. It helps to be anesthetized ;)
